Science Education Award, Science and Technology Award, and Sicence and Technology Research Grant

1.       Chairman of ITSF (Prof. Dr. Iskandar Zulkarnaen )

The development of the country influenced by the development in science and technology.  Expensive and longterm investment but very important.

The government should pay attention to the development and research in sicence and technology.

ITSF help the science and technology development by award and research grant to the researcer.

2.       Ambassador of Japan

ITSF since 1993 by toray Group Japan. Part of relationship among japan and Indonesia, not only in economic field but also in education and culture also science and technology development.

Sustainable development and global issue.  16 issues research in Indonesia.

ITSF is contribution of Toray Group Company to the science and technology development.  Strenghtening relationship among Indonesia dan Japan.

3.       Minister of Research and Higher Education (Presented by Mr. Mohammad Dimyati)

Indonesia going to enhance the research and science and technology.  The master plan of research and higher education 2050. Build consorcium of science and technology research among academia, government, and industry.  Encourage the researcher to enhance the research by grant and incentive.  Make the researcher focus on their research.

ITSF is one of the consrocium of science and technology to develop Indonesia.

4.       The Chairman of Toray Group Industry (Mr. Kazuki Hasimoto)

Generate the higher level of science and technology.

Toray Group Industry is the chemical manufacture.  Indonesia is the most important country for Toray Group.  Since 1990, Toray Group promote the research and development in science and technology.  1994 founded the ITSF and focus in basic research.

5.       Chairman of Selection Committee of the Award 2016

Science education award increase from 2015 to 2016.  Least of 100 to more than 100 proposals.

The criteria are: (1) simplicity; (2) local material; (3) replicandibility. 

Science education teaching: 10 candidates.

Science and technology award: 3 best presenter.

Science and technology research grant: 18 researcher.

6.       Keynotes Speaker: Sunaryo Sumowidagdo Ph.D.

Collaboration in the 21th Century Scientifc

Lawrence’s Team Science: (1) collaboration of scientist researcher; (2) inter science back ground; (3) global collaboration.

The Higgs Discovery: (1) teh large hadron collider; (2) building the CMS detector; (3) each scientist contribute their expertise; (4) the industry, Japan Factory and China Factory contribute some equipment.

Benefits: (1) allowing scientific and technology development; (2) science driven technology.
